| Note | George Carrick, age 18, is still with his mother in Ashfield Township in 1881. A sure record for him thereafter has not been found. There is a George Carrick, age 36, a carpenter, who resides in Minto Village, Walsh County, North Dakota, at the time of the U.S. 1900 census. He is said to have come to the U.S. in 1881. His wife Annie, age 30, is also said to be born in Canada. They have a son, George, age 3 months, born in North Dakota. Evidence has yet to be found that this is George, son of Andrew and Isabella. Find-a-Grave indexes George Carrick Sr. in Minto Cemetery, but shows no dates. Mrs. George Carrick is indexed and her dates show 1865-1928. Young George of 3 months age in 1900 is shown also in the cemetery. He died on Sept. 12, 1900, age 6 months and 18 days. Annie Carrick, age 42, is shown in Minto Village as a widow in the 1910 U.S. census. With her is son Andrew, age 8. None of which is evidence, though it's possible that Andrew, age 8 in 1910, was named after his grandfather Carrick. Further evidence may yet be found. |
