Birth date 02 Apr 1795 Parents Andrew Burnet and Isabel Nichole. Taken from a transcription. On 14 November 1818, Margaret Burnet married James Wilson in Traquair, Peebles Scotland. Source Familysearch Scotland marriages, 1561-1910, FHL Microfilm 1,067,922. This has the look of being Margaret, the daughter of Andrew and Isabel, but it may not be correct. Note that the gravestone for Isabel Nichol Burnet in Mountview Cemetery, Galt, records Andrew's death as well and places it in Traquair, Scotland, in 1823. The other difficulty is that the same database, but FHL Microfilm 1,067,918, records the marriage of a Margaret Burnet to John Hogg on 13 May, 1818. This occurred at Lyne and Megget, Peeblesshire, Scotland and of course some six months prior to the previously recorded marriage. |
