Mary Fraser Christening date 21 December, 1796, Inverness, Inverness, Scotland, parents Alexander Fraser and Sarah Ferguson.

Donald Clare Fraser wrote a three volume work entitled A Fraser Family Saga, Scotland to America, 2007. In volume 3, page 117, he discusses the Dumfries Township Frasers. He dates Mary Fraser's birth to 21 Dec 1796 in Muirtown, Inverness, Scotland. He identifies her parents as Alexander Fraser, born 18 Nov 1761, Muirtown, Inverness, and died 20 August 1842 Livingston County, New York, and her mother as Sarah Ferguson, born about 1771 in Muirtown and died 13 Sep 1813, Genesee County, New York. She is said to have married Alexander on July 12, 1789.

Mr. Fraser offers an explanation for the presence of Mary Fraser in Dumfries Township (see page 509 etc. of Vol. 1). Mary Fraser had a sister Isabella, who married a cousin, Donald Fraser. Isabella and Donald came to Dumfries Township. Mr. Fraser believes that Mary Fraser came to Dumfries Township about 1820 and stayed with her sister and her husband and that she then met and married David Lennox Harvie in the village of Paris (in Dumfries Township) in May of 1824.
