| Note | The page with Margaret's birth registration is badly smeared and difficult to read. Her middle name was apparently Buchanan. Birth reg. 044082-03 North Dumfries, Waterloo Co. Margaret Buchanan McKenzie born Feb 2, 1903. The father's name is just readable and appears to be Augustus McKenzie. The mother's name is unreadable as is the name of the informant. Margaret died in her 101st year. As of this March, 2021, her obituary is still to be found as presented by the Brantford Expositor edition of April 23, 2003. This tells that she died on April 21, 2003, in the Brantford General Hospital and that the funeral was to be on April 24 at Burford. Her date of death is confirmed by a photograph of her gravestone which appears on Find-a-Grave. Margaret appears to have lived for at least a time in Brantford in her last years. The Vernon's directory of Brantford has her on West Street in its volumes for 1999-2000 and 2001-2002. Margaret was born in February of 1903. The available records for First Church baptisms end in early 1902. |
