She was known to her friends and co-workers as Cay Cornell and had a career in journalism, first with the Winnipeg Telegram, and then with the Winnipeg Tribune. It tells that she was born at Ancaster on Mary 24th, 1876, which agrees with her birth registration. Her career in journalism is discussed and it tells of her sketches of 64 Canadian Victoria Cross winners. She spent her last seven years living with her sister, Mrs. J. E. Ruby, in Smiths Falls. The obituary concludes that her funeral was to be in Watford in St. James Anglican Church on Saturday (the 5th). |
