| Note | Death reg. 021454-86 Toronto, York Co. Geo. Mulholland died Jan. 15, 1886. Age 62, laborer, born Canada. Church of England. Physician and informant Dr. Daniel Clark, M.D., Toronto. A place of burial for George has not been found. The 1861 census taken at Beverly shows George B. Mulholland, age 38. This is fairly consistent with his two enumerations in 1881 and suggests a birth year of 1824, or possibly 1823. By this time the Mulholland family was likely in Beverly and he may have been born there. Information as to George's parentage has not been found. Since there is some confusion as to George's middle name, it should be said that children Hugh, William and Phelinda all give their father's name as George B. Mulholland in their marriage registrations. All the children shown for George and Elizabeth in this tree appear in the 1871 census taken in North Dumfries. One or two of the names appear to be out of order agewise and Jane Maria is shown as Jemima. James Defoe Mulholland is shown as Defoe. George and Elizabeth with son Smith Mulholland are still in North Dumfries at the time of the 1881 census. |
