| Note | Death reg. 015517-78 Puslinch Twp., Wellington Co Sarah Cassie Carrick died Sept. 3rd, 1878. Born Puslinch. Cause of death infantum cholera 9 days. Presbyterian. Physician and informant Dr. Orton, Morriston. Sarah's age is not given. She was probably a newborn. A place of burial for her has not been found. The handwriting for the above death registration is questionable so far as Sarah's middle name 'Cassie' is concerned. It may have been 'Cassin'. At first glance this seems unlikely, but the first name on the next census page is that of a Sarah Cassin, age 45, a married woman and the wife of a Martin Cassin. The difficulty with this idea is that Sarah Cassin's maiden name was Hammersley. She married Martin Cassin in 1858 in Wellington County. There is no evidence that she was related to the Carricks or Thomsons. |
