NoteHe One or two online trees at Rootsweb suggest that James was in Plymouth, Dearborn, Michigan, for the 1880 U.S. census, but that he was back in Bayham Township, Norfolk County, in Ontario, for the 1881 Canadian census. This is possible, though it requires more research.

It should be said that the above registration is very roughly handwritten. It's our one source to state that James Henry Moe's mother's maiden name was Johnson. The name Johnson is roughly written, but, clearly, it wasn't written with a T. 'Johnson' is a reasonable interpretation of this very messy entry.
