According to Floreen Carter's 1986 work Ghost & Post Offices of Ontario, a post office at Embro existed from 1836. The post office was established at Edinborough Hamlet and the name 'Embro' is, according to the information shown, an archaic 'Scotch' name for Edinburgh. (Let's not get into Scotch is a drink and Scot's are a people. Spare me and Ms. Carter. Ontarians have referred to people of Scot's extraction as Scotch for centuries. Informant James Brown. The Ingersoll Tribune edition of March 13, 1968, dates Lloyd's death to March 3 at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario and his funeral to March 6 in Ingersoll. The obituary states that there was a temporary entombment in the Ingersoll Mausoleum with interment later at Harris Street Cemetery.
