John Johnson
ID # 5722, (1820-)
| Baptism | John Johnson was baptized in 1820 at Ireland. |
| Marriage | He married Jane Hay, daughter of Robert Hay and Janet Dick, on 10 October 1850 at Wellington District. Note that the Wellington District marriage register is not available at the Archives of Ontario. The register was found in a collection and purchased by a person who then donated the register to the Wellington County Museum at Fergus. The museum in turn placed the register on microfilm and this has been transcribed by Dan Walker and Fawne Stratford-Devai and appears in publication in two volumes as The Marriage Registers of Upper Canada / Canada West Vol. 9, Parts 1 and 2, Wellington District, Global Heritage Press. It is available in both print and PDF format. The Johnson-Hay marriage appears on page 107 of part 1. This is from a list of marriages by Rev. James Sim, Baptist minister. It reads: John Johnson to Jane Hay, both of Maryborough. Oct. 10, 1850, by banns. Witnesses Alex'r Anderson and Robert Hay. |
