Informant George N. Misener, Oakland. At first glance, in accord with the above registration, we must locate Wilfred's place of birth as Townsend Township in Norfolk County. Note, however that father George locates the family in Oakland Township in Brant County. The birth of Wilfred's sister Eva, two years previous, was recorded in Oakland and the doctor who delivered both children was the same. When Wilfred married Alberta Hawkins in Guelph in 1915, for some reason he located his birth in Tillsonburg, which is in Oxford County and not at all close to Oakland. In 1935, however, he married Eveline Stuart and located his birth in Brant County, which makes sense in the context. We show his place of birth as Oakland Township in Brant County. We owe the record of Wilfred's date of death, 15 December, 1987, and his place of burial to Find-a-Grave and to Canadian Headstones. |
