Alfred Clark died 17 October, 1879. Age 5 months. Born Galt. Physician Dr. Brown. Informant Wm. Clark, carpenter, Galt.

The cause of death is poorly written, but appears to say that Alfred died of acute meningitis, two weeks.

It's reasonable to say that Alfred was buried in the Galt Cemetery. The family resided in Galt and, though in later years, Alfred's parents were buried in the cemetery.

Galt Cemetery was known as such from its inception in July of 1868, until 1886 the name was changed to Mountview Cemetery.

The Waterloo branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society transcribed Mountview Cemetery in the 1980s. They also recorded names that the cemetery had on burial cards when a name wasn't found on a gravestone. Alfred's name hasn't been found on a burial card. A similar situation exists for his first cousin, George Himes, who died in 1873.

We may mention here that there was a cemetery at old High Park in Galt, now called Centennial Park, and which was torn up in the 1880s and stones and remains (largely) moved to Mountview. This was, however, a Presbyterian cemetery. The Clarks were Wesleyan Methodists.
