| Note | An interesting conflict of information. A registration of birth was filed in Toronto on July 27, 1904, by William's mother. She dated her son's birth to Nov. 27, 1904, obviously problematic. In 1940, William's father sent in a correction to his son's year of birth making it 1903. Birth reg. 004095-04 Toronto, York Co. William Alfred Dixon born Nov. 27, 1904 (corrected to 1903). Parents Frederick A. Dixon and Frances Nolan. Husband baker. Physician Dr. Page. Informant Mrs. F. Dixon. Where it gets rather more interesting is that when William married Thelma Foster in Galt in 1925, he gave his place of birth as Niagara Falls, New York. Given the eight month delay in reporting William's birth in Toronto, it may well be that William was indeed born in Niagara Falls, New York. |
