Delgaty, tailor, Staffa. The name of the doctor is ill-written, but is probably Smith. The birth of James was registered in Fullarton. Staffa is a village right in the middle of Hibbert Township of Perth County. This is indeed next door to Fullarton Township, but that's the best that might be said of it. The registration is probably correct, however. A reasonable explanation would be that Elizabeth went to her parents home in Fullarton to give birth to James, her firstborn, and so his registration of birth in Fullarton would be correct. That's a guess, but at least a reasonable explanation. |
