|Note||Looking back at census information, the first given name of A. J. Nixon was Amanda. Her parents were William and Jane. They are present with their children, the oldest being Amanda, age 11, as of the 1851 census begun in January of 1852. The question to be asked was: What is your age as of your next birthday? Her age is given as 11, which would agree with her birth being in 1841. Her age is shown as 25 on her marriage registration in February of 1867. This means she was almost certainly 26 in that year and would place her birth in 1841.|
By the time of the 1871 census, William is with his parents in Ingersoll. He is shown as a widower, so we must believe Amanda to be dead prior to this, though a place of burial has yet to be found.
