| Note | Information for the dates and locations of birth and death for Edward Jameson Alma are taken from the transcription of his gravestone as it appears in publication 3357 of the Niagara branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society. He is buried in the family plot and the inscription on his stone tells us that Edward James Alma, the 3rd son of John Lees Alma and Emily, his late wife, was born at Niagara on the 17th day of May, 1833, and that he died at Simcoe in the County of Norfolk, C.W. This shows burials for burials by Rev. Thomas Creen, St. Mark's Church, Niagara. This tells that Edward Jamison Alma, who died at age 19 at Simcoe, on 29 May, 1854, of inflammation, was buried on 1 June, 1854. Volume 1: Part 3 of this same work tells that Edward Jameson, son of John Lees and Emily Alma, was born on 27 May and was baptized on 7 July 1833. |
