NoteHe See Vital Records of Upper Canada / Canada West, Vol. 1, Part 4, Niagara District, 1820-1869, compiled by Dan Walker & Fawne Stratford-Devai, Global Heritage Press, 2013, page 25. This tells that Hervey Lawder, the son of John Marjoribanks Lawder and Mary Catharine Alma, was privately baptized on 11 Sept. 1854. It also states that he was born on 25 January, 1853, and this may be correct, but the inscription on his gravestone in St. Andrew's Presbyterian states that he was born 25 January, 1852. The baptism record is almost certainly correct, if for no other reason that there was a notice of birth in the Niagara Chronicle edition of Friday, January 28, 1853. This states that the lady of John M. Lawder had a son on the 25th instant - January 25, 1853. See Early Ontario Newspaper Transcription Series, The Niagara Papers, Vol. 4, compiled by W. Craig Burtch, Global Heritage Press, 2012, page 12.
