Indeed, for the present we may only infer her existence, for the obituary of John's second wife, Elizabeth Porter McRoberts, tells that she life lived with her step-son Alexander in Toronto. Indeed, since an obituary for Alexander tells that he came from Carrickfergus, Ireland, to Canada, with his father, it may be that his mother died in Ireland.
Her year of death, 1840, as shown here, and only for purposes of keeping John's wives in correct sequence, may be a bit late in terms of reality. |
