On 30th January, 1895, by Rev. Thomas Amy. Henrietta's surname is ill-written. It takes a bit of work to discern 'Easterbrook', but this apears to be correct. |
| Death | She died on 10 June 1902 at age 35. |
| Burial | She was buried at Oxbow Cemetery, Oxbow, Saskatchewan. |
| Note | The 1901 census at Dalesboro, East Assinaboia, North West Territories (Saskatchewan) shows Henrietta's date of birth as 9 December, 1866. So also does the inscription on her gravestone at Oxbow. A photograph of her gravestone is provided by Find-a-Grave. This shows her date of death as 10th June, 1902. Her name is shown as Henrietta Easterbrook, the beloved wife of Charles Husband. Also buried in this cemetery is Henry Ewen Husband, Charles' cousin. A transcription of Ebenezer Cemetery is to hand and this shows Henrietta's parents, George Easterbrook and Caroline Darby, buried therein. Also inscribed on their gravestone is the name Henrietta Husband, died 10 June, 1902, age 36 years. This is obviously Henrietta who died on this date and is buried in Oxbow Cemetery in Saskatchewan. We must believe that the family chose to commemorate Henrietta on the Ebenezer Church Cemetery gravestone. With the advent of railroads, remains of persons who died in the west were sometimes returned to Ontario for burial. Considering the gravestone in Oxbow Cemetery, she is likely in fact buried there. |
