Residence at place of death 1 week. Father Robert Husband, born Haldimand County(?) and Mary Ann Bennett, born Milton. Physician R. Wallace. Informant Mrs. T. H. Husband, Hamilton, widow. Burial Hamilton February 21st. An obituary for father Robert Husband as it appeared in the Christian Guardian tells that he was born in Nassagaweya. This is in Halton County, not Haldimand County. See notes for Thomas' father. Also, going by information found in the 1861 and 1871 censuses, Thomas' age indicates that he was born in 1854, not 1856 as shown in his death registration. Another source of dates of birth for persons of this era is to be found in the 1901 census. The page suffers from some mutilation and Thomas' year of birth could be interpreted as 1857, but 1851 would be as good an interpretation. It does indicate that he was born in March of whatever year. Going by census information, 1854 is entirely reasonable, especially when it is considered that his mother is clearly and reasonably identified as Mary Ann Bennett. Her name appears on both of Thomas' marriage registrations as well as his death registration and she died in December of 1854. |
