James Field of Niagara Township to Maria Medaugh of Stamford Township
10 May 1828 by licence of R. Grant.

Maria's surname has been found variously spelled, but seems to have been Middaugh.

DeathShe died on 24 April 1898 at Amaranth Twp., Dufferin County.
NoteShe Maria is with sons Samuel and Richard in the 1881 census in Ancaster. She is shown as Mrs. James Field. Her age as written is almost illegible. She is shown as a widow. Son Richard is married.

The 1891 census shows Maria as Moriah Field, age 87, mother. This census tells that her parents were born in the U.S. She is with son Hiram, who is shown as the householder, and also her daughter Elenor and son Benjamin. This census page is for the township of Amaranth and the page tells that this is in the county of North Wellington, though by this time it is actually in the County of Dufferin, which was created some ten years previously.

By the time of Maria's death in 1898, the documentation shows Amaranth to be in Dufferin County. A place of burial for Maria has yet to be found.
