| Note | He Hamilton branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society provides a transcription of Daniel's gravestone in Jerseyville Cemetery. This reads: Daniel P. Howell born in New Jersey 28 June 1782 died 28 Mar. 1869 aged 86 years and 9 months. Beyond this, Rev. Donald A. McKenzie, in his Vol. 4 of Obituaries from Ontario's Christian Guardian, 1861-1870, Global Heritage Press, Milton (now of Ottawa), page 160 records an obituary from the June 2, 1869, edition of the Guardian. This identifies Daniel as the son of Garrett Howell, and tells that he was buried in the Jerseyville Cemetery on March 30 1869, in his 87th year. |
