Jacob's death registration, as shown, places his birth in Port Elgin. His marriage registration place his birth in Bruce County where Port Elgin is located. The difficulty here is that the family was in Normanby Township of Grey County as late as the 1871 census. It isn't entirely out of the question that Jacob was born in Port Elgin, or at least the county of Bruce. It may be that the family traveled there as work might require, but it's a bit counterintuitive. Still, this tree shows his place of birth as Port Elgin.

Page 24 of the October 11, 1947, edition of the Toronto Daily Star, carries a death notice for Jacob, but doesn't add a great deal in the way of information. It does confirm burial in Park Lawn Cemetery on the 14th. It confirms that he was predeceased by his wife, Alice Graham, and children are named.
