Toronto city directory information of the years prior to her death refer to her as the widow of Leonard. Leonard makes an appearance in the 1878-79 Hamilton city directory. He is described as a salesman and his residence is given as 68 Catherine St. South. He is also there, less profession, in the 1880 Hamilton directory and at the same address. After that, the Ellingtons are not found in the directories at all, though Geraldine appears in Hamilton in the 1881 census. To this point, no death registration for Leonard has been found. |
