Just what we have with the above is difficult to say. The registration for the marriage was filed by Rev. Mundy in Gainsborough Township. Wellandport is in Gainsborough and was the residence of the groom. The registration says, however, that the marriage was held in Campden, and Campden is in Clinton Township, Lincoln County. Best guess, it may be that Rev. Mundy was residing in Gainsborough at the time and filed the record with the Gainsborough Township clerk. Hence, above, the marriage is shown as filed. We must believe, however, that since the marriage was held at Campden, that the correct township designation is Clinton. Certainly, with only a surface examination so far, Mary's parents are buried in the Campden Mennonite Cemetery. A transcription for this cemetery is provided by the Niagara branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society. The Rittenhouse stones are in Row 8 and shown as stone numbers 12, 13, and 14.
