NoteThe following is per the Waterloo County Papers, Vol. 40, compiled by W. Craig Burtch, page 9, Global Heritage Press, Milton (now of Ottawa), 2012.

Per Berlin Telegraph, Friday, August 26, 1859

Obit McLeish: In North Dumfries, on Sunday evening last, at 8 o'clock, Mr. William McLeish, farmer
aged 29 years.

(This dates his death to August 21, which was the Sunday previous to the article.)

And this:

Berlin Chronicle Deaths, 1859

McLEISH William 21 Aug 1859 In East Dumfries, on Sunday night, the 21st inst., after a brief but severe illness, manfully borne, Mr. William McLeish, farmer, aged
29 years and 8 months
30 Aug 1859

The above is per a transcription provided by the Waterloo branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society.

First Church deaths appear to date his death to 22 August. 21 August, 1859, will be correct.

This may be found at the United Church of Canada Archives on microfilm LCM-30 or on microfilm GS2987 to be found at the Archives of Ontario.

Given that William's death is recorded in the pages of First Church's deaths, we must believe that William was a member. Given that he is not buried with his mother in Mountview Cemetery in Galt, we must believe he was buried with his father. The logic of this is that they were both buried in First Church's cemetery in the old Strang Burial Ground at High Park (now Centennial Park) in Cambridge/Galt. There may be another answer, but this seems the most reasonable.
