Some notes with regard to the above:
The family name Dorsey did at times in some early records get spelled with a double letter S. With time it certainly settled out as being with one S - Dorsey.

Wherein a record is shown in the above as Tecumseh, it is safe to take it that it is Tecumseth Township that is being referred to.

Robert gave his place of birth as Toronto Township. For the moment a sure date of birth for Robert has yet to be found, but based mainly on census information he was likely born in 1849. As of 1850, the family was in Caledon Township of Peel County. Toronto Township is in Peel County (which has nothing to do with the City of Toronto.) Robert's older sister, Bethia is said to have been born in Mimico, which is in Etobicoke Township. This is not far from Toronto Township. Either, at some point, the word 'near' should have been applied to Mimico especially, or the family moved around. It does appear that Robert and Bethia's father was farm labour. This may yet prove to be incorrect.

DeathShe died on 10 May 1940 at age 91.
BurialShe was buried at Beeton United Cemetery, Tecumseth Twp., Simcoe Co..
