The 1861 census was begun on January 4th of the year and the question asked was: What is your age as of your next birthday. Odds are that Margaret would be age 6 in 1861, which would place her year of birth as being 1856. The family has not been found in the 1871 census. Margaret was still with her parents as of the 1881 census. |
