Dickson was the minister at Central Presbyterian Church in Galt. John's place of birth, Logan Township in Perth County, is very poorly written on the form. John Brownlee's date of birth is shown on his death registration as being April 16, 1861. The 1861 census was begun on January 4th, 1861, and John's parents, James and Amelia, appear in Logan Township. Present with them are two of John's older siblings, still not much past toddler stage. With a bit of squinting at the marriage registration, it is possible to make out 'Logan, Perth' as John's place of birth. |
