On April 18, 1905, at Galt, by Rev. R. E. Knowles.

The occupation of John Henry McGregor is nearly illiegible on the form, but appears to be 'droughtsman'. The 1910 Vernon's directory for Galt shows him as a draughtsman at Goldie & McCulloch. Goldie & McCulloch, among other things, made safes - small and large - such as walk-in safes for banks such as might hold safety deposit boxes.

The handwriting for John's mother's maiden name has the appearance of being Milley. The transcription of the family plot in Mountview Cemetery shows her maiden name to be Miller.

Rev. Knowles was minister at Knox Presbyterian Church.

John's place of birth is shown as Galt on his marriage and death registrations. It's entirely possible that this is correct. The 1861 census, however, has the family in Beverly Township of Wentworth County. This need not have been at all far from Galt, perhaps almost within walking distance. John is shown as age 3 at the time of this census. The family was in Galt by the time of the 1871 census.
