In a sense, both are probably correct. The township will have been his physical place of birth; RR...(something) Galt, was probably the postal address. |

Parents John Taylor Jr., farmer, and Mary Ella Sherwood. The parents were married in Fergus in January of 1905. Physician Dr. James S. Wardlaw (of Galt). Informant John Taylor Jr, Galt (probably the postal address). Question: Were you in the house at the time of the birth? Answer: Close bye. At first glance, Jim's date of birth on his birth registration appears to be 12 December,1911. His gravestone shows his date of birth to be 14 December. A closer examination of the handwriting on his birth registration does indeed show his date of birth to be 14 December. Jim's date of death is taken from his gravestone, Section 6, Mountview Cemetery, Cambridge/Galt. |
