Informant Thomas Elliott. Death reg. 021295-82 Toronto, York Co. William Andrew Elliott died 13th January, 1883, age 5 years and 10 months. Born Guelph, Ontario. Cause of death croup, 24 hrs. Presbyterian. Physician and informant Dr. L. Hamilton Evans. (Registration filed 8th February, 1882.) Familysearch has Toronto Cemetery burials for this era. The information is taken from the burial books of the respective cemeteries - in this case, the Toronto Necropolis Cemetery. This tells that: Nbr. 9337, William A. Elliott, age 5 yrs, 10 mos., born at Guelph, died at Toronto January 13, 1882, and that he was buried on 15 January, 1882. He is said to have died of the croup and is buried in O 5, 18th Range, and that his physician was Dr. Evans. A note was added however that he was reinterred on Oct. 28, 1882. The note itself is illegible on the form, but enough could be discerned to say that he was removed to Mount Pleasant Cemetery, plot M, section 25, lot 10. This was said to have been purchased by Thos. Elliott and that the remains were removed from Necropolis Cemetery. William's burial in Mount Pleasant is shown as nbr. 1390 in the Mount Pleasant burial book (the pages are not numbered).This also makes mention that he died of croup and that the doctor was Dr. Evans. (Mount Pleasant records identify the lot as 10S.) Again, this information may be found on Familysearch, Toronto Trust Cemeteries, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Vol. 1, 1876-1896.
