Intended place of marriage Clanbrassil, Haldimand Co. In the Township of Oneida, Haldiand Co., on 21st October, 1933, by Gilbert...surname illeg., R. R. 3, Hagersville, United Church of Canada. Bit of a guess, but the marriage was probably held at Oneida United Church which is at the intersection called Clanbrassil. According to Google Maps, there is an Oneida United Church at Clanbrassil. It is also but one field away from the Gore Cemetery where Robert and Fannie are buried. Clanbrassil has a history to do with its name. At this location there was established a post office in 1863 and it was named Dufferin. The name of the post office was changed to Clayton, briefly, in 1881, and then, later in 1881 the name of the post office was changed to Clanbrassil. This post office was closed in 1914 and mail was handled by rural mail delivery by Hagersville thereafter. |

His parents are shown as William and Rachel. Father William's trade is shown as that of 'collier'. A street address is given, but the handwriting for this is faded to the point of being unreadable. Some English baptism records also provide a date of birth, but this record does not. |
