NoteWhen Jane Adams Gillespie died in 1851, the Galt Cemetery (later known as Mountview Cemetery) had yet to be established and she was buried in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Cemetery. By the time her husband John died in 1872, Galt Cemetery had been established and the two Presbyterian cemeteries, St. Andrews and that of First Church, at some point stopped receiving burials. It was in the mid 1880s that much of First Church Cemetery's burials were transferred to Galt Cemetery. It is understood that many of St. Andrew's burials were left undisturbed. Jane's remains may still be in St. Andrew's, though her name does appear on her husband's stone in what is now known today as Mountview Cemetery. If her remains were indeed transferred, then an examination of Mountview's burial records might solve the question.

In 2001, Norma Huber of the Waterloo branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society published her Funeral Notice Cards of Waterloo County From 1851 to 1980. Jane's dates of death and her burial (actually her funeral) are taken from this. Since there is some slight ambiguity, datewise, this is an interpretation.
