Elizabeth Mary Dunn Doyle
      Elizabeth Mary Dunn was born on 15 July 1834 in Ballindaggan, Templeshanbo, Co Wexford, IrelandG.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Martin Dunn and Sarah Keating.3,4 She was known as Bridget.5 She immigrated to South Crosby Twp, Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario, with her mother, Sarah Keating, and siblings in the late 1840s.6,7 She married Michael Doyle, son of James Doyle and Ellen Burn, on 20 February 1855 in St Edward the Confessor Church, Westport, Leeds & Grenville County, OntarioG.3,8 She was left a widow when Michael Doyle died on 12 August 1878.9,10 She was illiterate as evidenced by probate records for Michael Doyle which are signed with "X her mark". The 1891 census indicates that she could read but could not write. She died on 30 May 1930 in South Crosby Twp, Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario, at age 95.4 She was buried on 31 May 1930 in Philipsville Catholic Cemetery, Philipsville, Leeds & Grenville County, OntarioG.4

Research Note: The Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid11 says Elizabeth Doyle, wife of Michael, is buried in the Catholic Cemetery at Philipsville, Ontario. Gertrude Phelan12 also says she is buried in Philipsville with a white marker on her grave. In May 2000 I was unable to locate a tombstone there for her. flw.

Research Note: Elizabeth Dunn Doyle's death certificate says her mother's maiden name was Sarah O'Neil. Elizabeth's marriage record says her mother's maiden name was Sarah Keating. I have assumed the marriage record is correct. flw.4,3
