Elizabeth Ann Tucker

ID # 1883, (1869-1961)
FatherJohn Edwin Tucker (1837-1915)
MotherMargaret Long (1836-1910)
BirthElizabeth Ann Tucker was born on 11 August 1869 at Drummondville, Welland County.
MarriageShe married John Zybach on 10 November 1895.
We do not have a marriage registration for John Zybach and Elizabeth Tucker. According to William Dalton, sexton of Drummond Hill Cemetery, Zybach was married twice. Per the 1881 census at Clifton, his first wife's name may have been Berel, or Beryl. Elizabeth (Bessie) Tucker was evidently his second wife.

The Nov. 15, 1895, edition of The Buffalo Courier, has a brief item which reads:
John Zybach, the well known photographer at Niagara Falls, Ont., and Miss Alice Tucker, who has been connected with the Barnett Cafe in Queen Victoria Park, were married November 10.

This does not tell us where they were married, but it does appear to have been in the United States. Since it is clear that John Zybach was married to Elizabeth Ann Tucker, we must believe the given name 'Alice' to be a typographical error.

DeathShe died on 12 October 1961 at 2114 Culp Street, Niagara Falls, Ontario, at age 92.
BurialShe was buried on 13 October 1961 at Drummond Hill Cemetery.
NoteShe Elizabeth appears in the 1871 census.

Birth reg. 005062-69 Welland County
Elizabeth Ann Tucker born August 11, 1869. Daughter of Edwin Tucker and Margaret Long. The informant is Edwin Tucker, harnessmaker, Drummondville.

Some information for Elizabeth's death comes from a City of Niagara Falls web site for cemetery searches. Elizabeth Anne Tucker Zybach's stone shows her years of birth and death as 1869-1961. The Morse Funeral Home index shows her residence at the time of her death as well as the date of her death and confirms the date of her burial.
