Rose Gooding
ID # 2617, (1839-1925)
Father | John Gooding (1796-) |
Mother | Mahala Barbee (1801-) |
Birth | Rose Gooding was born in 1839 at Suffolk, England. |
Marriage | She married Shadrack Church, son of William Church and Clementine Sheldrake, in 1859 at Suffolk. For the present we only have an index provided by FreeBMD for the marriage of Shadrack Church and Rose Gooding. They were married in the last quarter of 1859. The index provides the district town of Plomesgate. Kenton records have been found recorded under the district town of Plomesgate and this may be where Shadrack and Rose were married, but this is not certain. |
Death | She died on 16 September 1925 at Gosfield N. Twp., Essex Co., Ontario. |
Burial | She was buried on 18 September 1925 at Cottam Cemetery, Gosfield N. Township. |
Note | She Rose Gooding's birth was registered in the first quarter of 1839. This is provided by an index and the registration has not been ordered. Rose's death registration, as shown below, states that her parents were John and Mahala Goodwin...reasonably 'Gooding'. The 1841 census at Kenton in Suffolk County, England, shows Rose, age 2, with her parents John and Mahala Gooding, so we may take it that her correct name was Gooding. Note that in the death registration below, Rose's mother is named Mahala Bailey. The transcription of her marriage record to John Gooding is shown as Barbee; the baptism record for one of her children shows her name as Barley. Death reg. 012266-25 Gosfield North, Essex Co.
