Note | He Death reg. 021332-96 Ancaster Twp., Wentworth Co. Walter Lawrason died May 15, 1896, age 69, laborer, born Beverly Twp., Ontario. Informant Edwin Vansickle. In 1833, Walter's father Thomas purchased the farm in Beverly that the family settled on (C3-L5). Thomas was said to be of Dumfries. That alone suggests that Walter was born in Dumfries. Walter's second marriage registration specifically states that he was born in Dumfries. Given what we have in the way of land records for Walter's father Thomas Lawrason, it's safe to say that Walter was born in the portion of the township that later became South Dumfries, a township in Brant County. |
