| Note | An Anna Lawrison, age 18, straw bonnet maker, is in Galt at the time of the 1851 census with a family by the name of Elms. The age 18 is not quite a match for other records, but this is likely Anna, Robert's daughter. The 1861 census in South Dumfries has Anna Lawrason, age 30, spinster, in the household of Christian Muma. Also present is Absalom Muma, Christian's son. Absalom and Anna were not married until some four years later. In 1871, Anna and Absalom are still in South Dumfries. With them are two children, George, age 4, and Margaret, age 1.
