| Note | The 1901 census taken at Shoal Lake, Manitoba, dates Carlisle's birth to 26 June, 1899. He birth does not appear in the index for Manitoba Vital Statistics. In March of 1917, he joined the Canadian Army and his attestation papers, signed at Shoal Lake, date his birth to 26 June 1898. Papers in his army record name his parents as Thomas and Celecta Badger. According to his discharge papers, he served with the C.F.C. (Canadian Forestry Corps.) in England. At the time of the 1921 census, he is at Blanshard, Marquette, Manitoba, and evidently working for a farmer. Voters' lists in later years appear to place him in Winnipeg. |
