A St. Thomas Cemetery website locates Richard Misener in section OSB-268.This does not provide a date of death. Richard's dates of birth and death are taken from Harley Misener's 1953 assemblage of files on Misener family history. This states that Richard is buried in St. Thomas Cemetery and that he died on 17 July, 1867.

Beyond this, Global Heritage Press, Milton, 2011, provides a Surrogate Court Index of Ontario, Canada, 1859-1900, 1859-1900, Vol. 12, Elgin County. This indexes a will for Richard Misener of Yarmouth Township, # 218, and dates it to 1867.

For the following notes see microfilm GSU161100. This relates to abstract indexes for land records for Beverly Township. See 2nd Concession, lot 7, and note that these index pages were not written up until 1867. The AIs are a fairly good representation of land transactions of earlier years though not a perfect account on all points.

Township lots were mostly surveyed to 200 acres. This page shows a Walter Butler Sheehan receiving a Crown Grant for 400 acres in 1796. Just what this all covered isn't made clear on the AI. However, later transactions do show Nicholas Misener purchasing a portion of this in 1818. The acreage is not shown nor the actual transaction date, but the registration date was 4 March, 1818.

This same page then notes a will for Nicholas Misener, the date written being 1845 and the registration date being 13 June, 1851. It does appear as this was recorded in what was probably Gore register A, grant number 426.

The next entry records Richard Misener obtaining a mortgage for the south half of Concession 2, lot 6, from a William White, which Richard and his wife then apparently paid off in 1855. There will be more pages with regard to this property, but only the first page is to hand.

For the present, just when Richard and Hannah moved to Yarmouth Township isn't known.
