Informant William Misener, farmer, Crowland. The Niagara Branch of the OGS, in its 1997 transcription of Young-Misener Cemetery, shows the following stone in Row 2: Stone 4 Misener/In Memory Of/ Andrew Misener / Died / Aug. 30, 1876 / Aged 80 years / 2 Mo. & 25 Days Yes, there is a descrepancy in age as shown on the death registration and on the stone. The 1895 history of the Miseners as it appears with the 1953 Harley Misener papers tells that Andrew was born in Crowland, remained single, and that he lived with his brother William. The 1871 census at Crowland Township shows Andrew with his brother William's family. The youngest son of William and Annie is shown as Andrew Misener Jr., age 10. This listing is immediately follows by Andrew Misener Senr., age 75. That they were nephew and uncle is a reasonable interpretation. The Young-Misener Cemetery transcription shows that he is buried with his parents. |
