| Note | He The Bell-Cornwell Family Record tells that Moses Hayes was born in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. It goes on to say that his first wife was Mary. By Mary he had five daughters. Margaret was born January 16, 1790, at Reading, Berks County; Polly married a Hawes; Nancy married a Cimamon; Sally married a Rexhart; and Betty married a Kilpatrick. After Mary's death, Moses Hayes married a widow who had a son named McCarthy and a daughter, Polly Small. None of this has been independently verified. |
