The death registration places Sarah's birth in Ayr. This is in North Dumfries Township. Wilder and Sarah's marriage registration places her birth in Hespeler. The marriage registration might the more likely correct, and is shown here, though we have no certainty. Sarah was born in 1855 and her marriage registration names her parents as John and Sarah. The 1851 census for South Dumfries in Brant County shows John and Sarah there. By 1861, Sarah is apparently a widow and teaching and she is resident in North Dumfries. Young Sarah is shown as age 6.
