NoteWashington Buchanan, or Wash as he was known, was the only one of his siblings not born in Blenheim Township of Oxford County, near the village of Washington. His parents farmed near Washington from the time of their marriage until before Wash's birth. Wash's brother John could remember, as a young lad, walking from Washington to Glen Morris driving a flock of geese ahead of him.

The baptism record for Glen Morris church shows Washington's date of birth as 24 October, 1870, as well as his baptism date of 12 February, 1871. Wash's name should have been on the above registration.
