An obituary for Catherine appeared in the November 1, 1888, issue of the Dumfries Reformer. It names the surviving members of her family and accords with other information available about her family. Interestingly, it says that she came with her parents to Dumfries from Scotland in 1826 and they settled on a farm, one mile south of Glen Morris. At the time of the obituary, this farm was owned by William Buchanan, her son-in-law. |
