Charles Buchanan died April 1, 1926, at Old People's Home. Single. Age 77. Born Waterloo Tp., 1849. Length of residence at place of death 10 years. Parents' names unknown. Physician Dr. Frank R. Harvey, Kitchener. Informant H. W. Martin, Mgr., Old Peoples Homes. Burial Galt on April 3, 1926.

The above death registration shows Charles as single. He is an inmate in the House of Refuge in Kitchener in 1921 and there he is shown as a widower, which is correct.

The death registration shows that Charles is to be buried on April 3rd. The burial card on file for Section 1, Mountview Cemetery shows his burial as April 2nd. He and brother George are both buried in their parents' burial plot, though there is apparently no stone for them, only the burial cards in the cemetery office.

No evidence of children for Charles and Lydia Jane has been found.

The Old Peoples' Home, so called, seems to have been known as the House of Refuge. It was so called in the 1921 census and it is referred to as such on the death registration for Charles' brother George who died in 1927.
