Witnesses Maggie Sutherland, Galt, and Charles D. Stewart, Smiths Falls. On 28th December, 1892, at Galt, by Rev. Alex Jackson. The marriage was held at the end of December in 1892. It was not registered until January of 1893 and so this is the registration year. Alex Jackson was minister at Knox Presbyterian church at the time of the marriage. |
| Note | The 1891 census at Galt shows John Barbour, age 23, machinist, still living with his mother along with older brother Robert and sister Annie. As of the 1901 and 1911 censuses, John and Isabella are still in Galt and with them, both censuses, are three children. They have yet to be found in later years. |
