Mary McKenzie died Dec. 2, 1910. Date of birth March 25, 1863. Age 47 years, 8 months, 7 days. Born Canada. Died at Spruce Street, Galt, Ont. Lady. Single. Father John McKenzie, born Dumfriesshire, Scotland, mother Margaret Buchanan, born Galt, Ont. Physician Dr. S. E. Charlton. Informant Thos. McKenzie. Mary is buried with her parents in section 3 of Mountview Cemetery, Cambridge/Galt. Her name is inscribed on the family's gravestone on the same side as her parents. It reads: Mary died Dec. 2nd, 1910, aged 47 years, 8 mos., 7 dys. Mary's mother's place of birth is shown as Galt on the above death registration. This will be correct, though, technically, Margaret was born in Shade's Mills in 1823. Shade's Mills did not become Galt until 1825. |
