| Note | Of all the children, a registration of birth has not been found for Adelyn. Of interest, however, is that on her marriage registration, in 1918, wherein she married Jabez Hill, she shows Amulree, Ontario, as her place of birth. Amulree is in North Easthope and looking at the antique map of this township we find that Amulree sits on the 7th concession and partially upon lot 20, which is shown as owned by G. Wettlaufer (a 100 acre half township lot). This is to be found in the Canadian County Atlas Digital project as presented by McGill University. This in turn draws on a map that originated in an unnamed 1879 atlas and gazetteer. That being said, Adelyn was probably born on the farm and in the township as opposed to the village. Amulree did have a post office from 1864 until 1914 and was probably the postal address at least at one time for the family. |
